The ACLU of Montana is dedicated to supporting everyone's basic civil rights. We're tracking the following 2025 legislation:

SB 114, which would attack the separation of church and state, requiring Montana public schools to permanently display the Ten Commandments in  every public school classroom. This law is blatantly unconstitutional and fundamentally at odds with the founding principles of our country. As soon as this law is passed, it will be challenged in the Courts and likely struck down, wasting taxpayer dollars as the State is forced to mount a futile defense. ACLU of Montana OPPOSES this bill.
