The ACLU of Montana has been advocating and litigating for 2S-LGBTQIA+ (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual) rights for well over a decade.

Over the last four decades, this country has relentlessly expanded the size of our criminal justice system, needlessly throwing away too many lives and wasting trillions of taxpayer dollars. Montana is no exception.

First Amendment protections for freedom of speech, of the press, of association, of assembly and petition are the essentials of freedom of expression.

Immigrants’ Rights

Upholding the rights of immigrants is important to us all.

Indigenous Justice

We seek to uplift Indigenous people, communities and tribes through community-directed and integrated legal and advocacy work. We aim to support tribal communities -- and follow their lead -- as they work to uphold their sovereignty, dignity, and autonomy.

Racial Justice

The ACLU of Montana is committed to pursuing racial justice in all parts of society, including in the criminal justice system, elections and in our schools and businesses.
